Amy Brown serves as a Policy Associate for HSR's contract with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to conduct a comprehensive statewide Maternal and Child Health-Children with Special Health Care Needs capacity and needs assessment. She works on a project coordinating the provision of technical assistance to State Policy Academy Teams on Homelessness. Ms. Brown also provides expertise in the areas of program evaluation and data analysis.
Ms. Brown's experience includes work on racial and ethnic health disparities, social epidemiology, and HIV/AIDS prevention. Prior to joining HSR, she worked at the National Academies of Science on a study to improve adolescent health and development outcomes. Ms. Brown obtained a master's degree in public health from Yale University, where she helped develop both a new assessment tool to measure social determinants of health in urban communities and a new HIV/AIDS prevention program for very high-risk populations. Ms. Brown also holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Smith College.
