Sandra Silva is a Policy Associate in the Health Promotion Practice Area and works on numerous projects, conducting policy research and analysis, evaluating programs, and providing technical assistance. Ms. Silva is currently managing a project for the Economic Research Service at the Department of Agriculture, assessing the impact of Medicaid managed care on WIC program coordination with primary care services. She is also taking a lead role on an exploratory study for the Office of Population Affairs' Office of Family Planning to assess both the level of use and the effectiveness of couples-oriented approaches in Title X-funded programs. Most recently, she contributed to a needs assessment of the maternal and child population for the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Family Health, as part of its Title V Block Grant application.
Ms. Silva began her career in the social services field and also has years of field research experience, having worked on several research projects relating to maternal and child health. Ms. Silva holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brown University and a master's degree in management with a focus on child, youth, and family policy from the Brandeis University Heller School for Social Policy and Management.
