Kathy Hudson has 15 years of experience in project management, training, and technical assistance. At HSR, Ms. Hudson provides technical assistance and training to substance abuse Single State Agencies for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment's (CSAT) Health Care Reform Technical Assistance Project. Ms. Hudson assists the State of Arizona in developing peer support services in behavioral health, including the facilitation of focus groups, program site visits, and a statewide planning meeting with 40 participants. At CSAT's request, she has conducted expert interviews and developed a report as part of an Evaluability Assessment Project for CSAT's Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program. Ms. Hudson also serves as a Facilitation Lead for the Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health for the production of Surgeon General communications on mental health issues relevant to women and girls. She oversees facilitated discussions and the development of the Surgeon General's Workshop, and she conducts leadership interviews.

Prior to joining HSR, Ms. Hudson was a Training Manager for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. She was responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for State, Tribe, and Territory grantees. She received excellent evaluations for three trainings delivered to 60 to 70 participants. Ms. Hudson also was Director of Communications for the Center for Women Policy Studies. She has trained numerous groups ranging from senior government managers at the Food and Drug Administration to physicians at the American College of Rheumatology in communications and leadership development skills. Her written work has included management materials (e.g., newsletters, annual reports), course curriculums (trainer/participant manuals and professional education manuals), health education materials (e.g., policy papers, fact sheets, and patient education pamphlets), and media materials (press releases and newspaper columns). Ms. Hudson holds a master's degree in public administration from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in political science from University of Michigan.
