Deputy Project Director/Project Manager

The Deputy Project Director/Project Manager will assist in the management of a multi-year Federal contract. This contract involves developing and implementing knowledge transfer strategies for evidenced-based research to Senior State and local health officials, purchasers of health care, and health care delivery systems. Specific responsibilities include: managing all phases of project-related activities, including but not limited to the design, budgeting, and implementation of strategies and related projects, such as workshops, meetings, on-line event registration, web-assisted teleconferences, publications and other project deliverables; developing comprehensive budgets for all project activities; contacting and obtaining commitment from individuals from academia, government, and private industry to serve as experts and speakers at workshops, web conferences and other project-related activities; developing substantive written project materials, regular project-related reports and invoices to meet the client’s needs; making presentations and moderating meetings among experts and supervising the production of all project materials and related activities.

The minimum qualifications include: a Master’s degree in public policy or public health plus a minimum of four years project management experience with federal contracts. The candidate must also have excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills, ability to coordinate and supervise the work of others. Attention to detail is also essential.

Evaluator

The Evaluator will manage and conduct a variety of projects focused on health care and welfare reform issues. This individual will perform evaluation, technical assistance, program management and project development activities. Specific responsibilities include: contributing substantially to the development and planning of new evaluation and technical assistance projects; developing evaluation designs and sampling plans; developing quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments and protocols; organizing and managing databases and files; providing guidance, monitoring and technical assistance to internal and external clients about data collection and management; managing information related to project activities; coordinating and implementing logistical arrangements for activities and events, as required; planning, overseeing, and conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis; collaborating in the preparation of reports and presentations presenting and interpreting evaluation findings and analyzing policy implications for clients, conferences, and professional journals; presenting findings at professional conferences and meetings and assist other staff in preparing presentations; and writing substantive sections of proposals and provide input to other facets of the proposal.

The minimum qualifications include: a Master’s degree plus three to five years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree plus six to eight years of relevant experience. Education and experience in public health or social science or related field preferred. Strong evaluation skills in both design and implementation and strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills. Excellent project management, analytical and organizational skills and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Extensive knowledge of SAS and SPSS and a qualitative analysis software package, as well as, strong Access and Excel skills.
