The meeting
is comprised of two major "components".
Component
1
The morning of Thursday, January 24th, is targeted
to hospital board members, CEOs, and other senior executives,
although all who are interested in improving patient safety
are invited and welcome to attend. It will provide the context
for patient safety efforts in New York State identifying
key initiatives within the State and highlighting the importance
of hospitals pursuing error reduction efforts in a systematic,
science-based manner.
In addition,
the winners in the New York State Hospital Pateint Safety
Award Program will be announced publicly and representatives
of these facilities will be among the presenters.
Component
2
The afternoon of Thursday, January 24th and the morning
of Friday, January 25th are designed for medical directors,
quality assurance and risk management personnel, or other
hospital managers responsible for overseeing their institutions'
patient safety initiatives, as well as board members and administrative
leaders. However, all who are interested in improving patient
safety are invited and welcome to attend this component as
well. They will have the opportunity to attend a number of
concurrent sessions in which information, insights, and perspectives
on promising patient safety initiatives will be shared.
Individuals
are welcome to register for one or both components of the
meeting.
