Enhancing Working Conditions and Patient Safety: Best Practices

Conference Overview This "Best Practices" conference will focus on approaches to simultaneously improving both working conditions and patient safety in health care. Conference participants will share best practices in these areas by discussing both the barriers encountered and practical examples of success that can be replicated by others. The format of the meeting encourages both formal and informal discussions of working conditions and patient safety. The conference will start at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17th and end at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18th, 2000. Who Should Attend? Health care practitioners, managers, administrators, researchers, policy makers, patients, and providers. Conference Objectives The conference aims to provide a collaborative atmosphere for discussing and learning best practices, with particular emphasis on sharing challenges, pitfalls, and solutions. Best practices are interventions, programs, policies or procedures in areas such as staffing and organization of work, physical environment and ergonomics, and organizational culture. Sponsors
