| Technical Assistance and Training |
Technical assistance (TA) and training can be of
enormous value to policymakers, program administrators, health
systems decisionmakers, and community organizations. To achieve
its full
effect, however, such assistance must be crafted to meet individual
need. Proper timing also is important. Recipients must be aware
of the need for change and must be able to place confidence in
the TA provider.
Health Systems Research Inc. (HSR), has a long and successful
record of providing results-oriented, hands-on TA
and training at the national, State, and local levels. For each
new assignment, our TA Team works with the recipient organization
to assess the nature and extent of its needs. Next, we match those
needs to the technical expertise and skills of HSR staff and our
extensive roster of expert consultants. We then craft a TA package
that will respond to the client’s needs and ensure that our
consultants or staff are fully briefed on the context for and goals
of the assignment. We provide appropriate support for every TA
assignment, ranging from telephone calls and e-mails to onsite
visits. Finally, we evaluate all aspects of the TA engagement and
provide followup as needed. The outcome of this process: results
that move our clients ahead in improving their policies, programs,
and activities.
Over the past 20 years, we have provided TA and training to Federal
agencies, public agencies in all 50 States and Territories, and
local government and community organizations. We have offered these
services both directly and through the many federally supported
TA center projects that we have led.
