Assessment Process - Step 5:
Evaluating Success

Cross-Training evaluation focuses on training and the systemic changes that occur as a result of it. Tools are available to evaluate the process and the intermediate and long-term outcomes. They can be tailored to meet local or State needs.

Evaluation of Training

Participant Registration Form
Provides organizational and demographic information on participants. Each participant is assigned a code, which enables evaluators to track, confidentially, the progress and satisfaction of each participant.

Pretest
Measures knowledge and attitude of participants at the outset of Cross-Training. Includes questions on awareness of system integration that will be revisited by selected participants in follow-up evaluation.

Post-test
Measures participants' knowledge and attitude changes that result from training.

Workshop Evaluation
Measures participants' satisfaction with workshop structure and content, trainers, logistics, and overall effectiveness.

Satisfaction Survey for Trainers
Gauges trainers' satisfaction with planning, overall effectiveness of the preparation process, and presentation delivery.

Satisfaction Survey for Planners
Gauges planners' satisfaction with the program promotion materials, technical assistance, workshop structure and content, logistics, and overall effectiveness of training.

Follow-up Evaluation (Three months after Cross-Training)

Participant Follow-up Evaluation and Action Plan
Measures participants' implementation of action plan and retention of information from Cross-Training. Includes section on systems integration and perceptions of collaboration efforts.

Event Planner Follow-up Evaluation
Gauges planners' satisfaction with workshop structure and content, trainers, logistics, and overall effectiveness. Includes sections on systems integration and the collaborative process. Local managers also are interviewed about implementation of action plan.
