For the State of South Carolina, HSR facilitated the initial integration of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services within the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and Medicaid managed care. The report presents a draft contract between Medicaid and MCH defining a package of "wrap around" Family Support Services-including outreach, risk assessment, case management, health education, nutritional services, social work services, and caregiver training-that could continue to be provided by DHEC providers and reimbursed by Medicaid within a managed care environment.
