Virgin Islands, HSR developed for government agencies and service providers
a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Children with Special Health Care
Needs (CSHCN) Program Manual. The manual serves as a tool to help the
MCH and CSHCN Programs develop and implement more effective and integrated
preventive, primary, and specialty care programs for pregnant women
and children. (Proposed for Virgin Islands Department of Health, 1996)

MCH Systems under Health Care Reform: A Proposal for Puerto Rico Officials

For the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, HSR assisted Maternal and Child Health
Officials in exploring future directions for the Commonwealth's Title
V program under health care reform. The report analyzes existing MCH
systems in Puerto Rico; presents a range of options for new program
development in the areas of support services for high-risk families,
services for children with special health care needs, primary prevention
activities, and core public health functions; estimates the costs that
would be associated with adoption of the proposed new functions; and
discusses implementation strategies and key challenges to be faced by
Puerto Rico officials as they assume new roles. (Proposed for Puerto
Rico Department of Health, 1996)
